How did Positively Critical Workshops come to be -

Workshop Director, Jeff Olpin, has been fascinated with the mind and how it interprets information ever since he started managing employees and guests in the hospitality industry 15 years ago.  Through a managers eyes, each interaction with an employee or guest held great potential for success as well as the possibility of failure, dependent on how criticism was delivered and received by the individual.  With such varying results, Jeff decided to study neuroscience, the sciences that deal with the structure and function of the nervous system and the brain.  He then paired his findings with the study of phycology, the interpretation of information received through the brain, thus provoking an emotional and physical reaction.  By adding his own experiences and observations into the mix, he came up with explainations for why we do what we do and how to make mindful choices instead of just reactive responses.  Jeff then realized that this collaboration of information could help guide a person, no matter their background or social status, towards their future goals.  His passion for people and making a positive difference lead him to start Positively Critical Workshops.
